About this piece
Chrome does not sit still. The butterfly on the front of this tee looks poured rather than printed — a liquid-metal form catching cool blue light along every edge, wrapped in ornate lettering that belongs on something expensive.
It reads as one clean shape from across a room and turns into detail when someone gets close enough to look properly. That two-distance behaviour is the hardest thing to design into a graphic tee and the reason this one works.
The design
The form is built from reflection rather than outline. There is no hard black edge holding the butterfly together — the shape exists because the blue highlights stop, which is exactly how chrome behaves in life and exactly what most metallic graphics get wrong by drawing a border around it.
Reflection work depends entirely on smooth tonal transitions, and transitions are what thin printing destroys first: they band into visible stripes and the metal turns to flat grey plastic. Printing at high density keeps the gradient continuous, which is why the surface still looks wet rather than painted.

Black bottoms, minimal footwear, and nothing else reflective in the fit — the print is the only thing that should be catching light. It layers well under an open overshirt because the composition is centred and survives being partly covered.

Printing, care and how long it lasts
The print flexes with the fabric instead of sitting on it, which is why fine detail stays readable rather than filling in. Is the design printed on the back as well?
No — front-only, with a plain back on purpose. A graphic this reflective does not need a second one arguing with it, and a clean back keeps the tee wearable under an open overshirt.
Will the chrome effect fade or crack?
The effect comes from smooth tonal gradients, which are the most heat-sensitive part of any print. It is printed at high density so the ink flexes with the cotton. Cold wash, inside out, line dry — a tumble dryer is what would band and dull it.
Is it actually metallic ink?
No. The chrome look is drawn rather than achieved with metallic foil or ink — it is the highlight placement and the gradients that read as metal. That is why it survives washing, where foil finishes crack and lift.
Which size should I order if I am between two?
The smaller one. The cut is oversized already, so your usual size gives the drape it was designed for, and sizing up mostly adds length. The flat measurements on this page are the better check than your usual label size.

What fabric are Toxikiing tees made from?
100% cotton French Terry at 240 GSM — heavyweight, pre-shrunk and bio-washed, roughly twice the weight of a standard promotional tee. That weight is what makes an oversized cut hang properly instead of drooping. Hoodies use 300 GSM brushed fleece.
