Description
About this piece
Two koi, circling. A moon above, waves drawn with the patience the subject demands, red maple leaves caught in the water between them.
The composition loops — your eye follows one fish into the other and back, which is what the motif has always been for. On a heavyweight hoodie there is enough surface for the linework to breathe.
The design
Traditional wave work is the technical heart of the design: dozens of parallel curved lines that must stay evenly spaced across the whole panel. The eye catches any inconsistency in a repeating pattern immediately, which makes this the least forgiving artwork we print.
The red maple leaves are the only warm colour, placed to break the blue rhythm at three points rather than scattered evenly. That deliberate asymmetry inside a symmetrical motif is what stops it feeling like clip art. Dense printing is what keeps the wave lines separated on a brushed surface instead of bleeding into solid bands.
Who it’s for and how to wear it
For people who like traditional Japanese motifs treated properly rather than as a vague aesthetic, and anyone who wants a dark winter piece with real craft in the drawing.
Black underneath and nothing else patterned — the waves are already a pattern and a second one turns the fit into noise. Dark bottoms, clean footwear, and let the linework be the detail.
Fabric and build quality
This is 300 GSM brushed-fleece cotton on a true boxy, drop-shoulder oversized hoodie fit — not a regular fit scaled up, which is the shortcut nearly everyone takes. The sleeve sits where it does by design and the body stays boxy instead of tapering. Pre-shrunk and bio-washed before it reaches you. Why the number matters: 240 GSM vs 180 GSM, explained.
Fit and sizing
Take your usual size; the fit is oversized before you make any decision. There is no flat measurement chart for this hoodie yet and we are not going to substitute the tee figures, because a 300 GSM hooded piece is cut to different proportions entirely. One WhatsApp message and we will measure the garment for you. The oversized size guide for India covers the rest.
Printing, care and how long it lasts
A high-density print survives because it moves with the cotton rather than against it. What it cannot survive is repeated heat. Wash cold and inside out, line dry rather than tumble drying, and iron around the artwork if you iron at all. Full explanation: why prints crack and how to stop it.

Twin Tides Oversized Hoodie — FAQs
What are the hoodie measurements?
We have not published flat measurements for this hoodie yet and will not substitute the t-shirt chart, because a 300 GSM hooded piece is cut both wider and longer than a tee. WhatsApp us and we will measure the garment for you.
Will the fine linework survive washing?
The wave pattern is the most detailed thing we print and is laid down at high density for exactly that reason — parallel hairlines are what cheap printing merges first. Cold wash, inside out, line dry and the spacing holds.
Is anything printed on the back?
No, the back is plain. One detailed composition per garment is the rule here, and the front is already carrying a great deal.
Does the red fade faster than the blue?
Warm accents dull first, but from heat rather than from wear. Keep it out of the tumble dryer and away from direct sun when drying and the leaves stay saturated.
What is the return and exchange policy?
You have a 7-day exchange window from delivery for sizing problems or defects. Keep the tags on, send a WhatsApp message, and we arrange the pickup and the replacement piece.
Is Cash on Delivery available?
Yes, COD works across India, along with UPI, cards and net banking via Razorpay. Shipping is free and tracked regardless of payment method, dispatched within 24 to 48 hours.
