About this piece
A scaled serpent winds down the length of the shirt in a long S, passing in front of a cracked rust-orange sun and then behind a row of moon phases below it. SOLAR SERPENT cuts across the middle in tall ivory lettering with the serpent’s body threading through the words.
It is the occult piece in this drop — star fields, phase discs, thin concentric rings — and the most carefully balanced. Everything is arranged on a single vertical axis.
The design
The serpent is drawn scale by scale in warm ivory with fine shading along each coil, so the body reads as genuinely round rather than as a flat ribbon. The sun behind it is treated the opposite way: flat rust-orange, cracked like dry earth, with rays radiating out in thin straight spokes.
Interleaving is what makes the composition work. The snake passes in front of the sun, behind the lettering, then in front of the moon discs, which builds real depth on a flat garment and stops the elements from reading as stickers laid side by side.
It is also what makes it hard to print. Every one of those crossings is an edge where two elements meet, and the ivory body has to stay cleanly separated from the rust sun behind it. A print that spreads even slightly closes those gaps, the depth collapses, and the serpent stops passing through the composition and starts sitting flatly on top of it.

Fit and sizing
Because the serpent runs nearly the full height of the shirt, the size you choose changes where the composition ends relative to your body. Take your usual size and it finishes near the hem as drawn; size up and the lower moon phases sit past your hip. The pattern is oversized to begin with. Flat figures, garment rather than body: chest 42, 44, 46 and 48 inches from S to XL, lengths 27.5 through 30.5 from the high shoulder point, half an inch of tolerance. How the print ages, and how to slow it down
The rust sun is the element most at risk. Warm tones fade first under heat, and because it is the only saturated colour in the design, dulling it shifts the whole balance toward flat greyscale. Cold water, inside out, no bleach, no fabric softener, and line dry in shade rather than direct sun. Avoid the tumble dryer.
